Who we are

A Boulder family that happens to sell real estate.

Estate Professionals has been locally owned and operated in Boulder County since 1996 — the same family, the same community, for nearly three decades. Founder Dena Schlutz traded a career as a financial analyst at HP for real estate and built a brokerage on a plain idea: treat a home the way you'd treat an investment, because for most people it is the largest one they'll ever make.

The roots run three generations deep. Dena's mother-in-law, Hilda Schlutz, sold homes in Longmont years before the sign out front read "Estate Professionals." Today two of Dena's children — Logan and Victoria — work the market full time alongside her, together with brokers who know these neighborhoods because they live in them. That continuity is the point: you're not handed off to a call center, and the person who lists your home is the person who answers the phone.

Everything is built around one goal our clients repeat back to us — building real wealth through real estate, whether that's a first condo in Gunbarrel, a move up in Niwot, or an investment property across Longmont. We're trained in negotiation, investment analysis, and market statistics, and we keep someone available seven days a week so you can actually see homes when your life allows it.

Our promise

"Helping people build wealth through real estate since 1996."

How we work

What working with us actually looks like.

Buying and selling run differently. Pick the track that fits where you are — every step below is how our brokers move a deal in the Boulder and Longmont market.

01

Pricing on real numbers

We start with a valuation grounded in current Boulder County market statistics — recent comparable sales, days-on-market, and how buyers are actually behaving right now — not a hopeful list price that sits and goes stale. You'll understand exactly why the number is what it is.

02

Preparing the home to show

Before anything goes live we walk the property for the small things that move price: what to fix, what to leave, how to stage the rooms that sell a house. Professional photography and marketing are handled in-house by our marketing director, so the listing looks like the home does in person.

03

Getting it in front of buyers

The listing goes to the MLS and the major portals, but we also run our own network and off-market outreach to buyers already looking in your area. In a tight market that extra reach is often what turns one offer into several.

04

Negotiating the terms

Offers are more than a price — contingencies, inspection items, timelines, and financing all decide what you actually keep. This is where decades of negotiation experience pay for themselves; several of our sellers have closed well over asking on strong-weekend showings.

05

Through inspection to close

We manage the inspection response, appraisal, and the paperwork so nothing stalls the closing. You get one point of contact who already knows your deal — available seven days a week straight through to the keys changing hands.

What we do

Full-service brokerage, one family at the wheel.

Selling your home

Data-backed pricing, in-house marketing and photography, MLS and off-market exposure, and negotiation that protects your bottom line from list to close.

Buying a home

From first-time buyers to relocations, we search on and off market, structure winning offers, and guide financing so you buy with clear eyes.

Investment & valuation

Trained in investment analysis and market statistics — the same tools we use to price your sale help you evaluate rentals and build a real-estate portfolio.

Relocation

Moving to Boulder County from out of state? Virtual tours, neighborhood briefings, and remote-friendly transactions make a long-distance move workable.

Home valuations

A grounded, no-obligation read on what your home is worth in today's market — the honest starting point for any decision to sell or refinance.

Financing guidance

We connect you with lenders and help you understand your numbers up front, so you know what you can offer before you start looking.

Where we work

Boulder & Longmont — our home ground.

We don't chase listings across the state. Our brokers know Boulder County because they were raised here and work it every day — these are the communities we serve.

Boulder

City neighborhoods, foothills homes, and the university-adjacent market we've listed in since 1996.

Gunbarrel & Niwot

The corridor between Boulder and Longmont — a favorite for buyers wanting space without leaving the county.

Northwest Longmont

Where the family's roots run deepest — three generations of Schlutz realtors have worked this side of town.

Southwest Longmont

Established neighborhoods and move-up homes for growing families across the southwest quadrant.

Longmont Estates

Larger lots and estate properties on the west side, with mountain views and room to breathe.

Rural Boulder County

Acreage, ranch land, and rural properties — the kind of listing that needs a broker who understands land, not just houses.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

What areas do you cover?

Boulder and Longmont and the communities around them — including Gunbarrel, Niwot, Northwest and Southwest Longmont, Longmont Estates, and rural Boulder County.

What are your hours?

Someone is available seven days a week, 8:00am to 8:00pm, so you can view properties on your schedule rather than ours.

Are you a big franchise or a local firm?

Local, and family-owned since 1996. Estate Professionals is run by the Schlutz family across three generations — the person who lists your home is the person who answers your calls.

Do you help first-time buyers?

Yes. First-time buyers get the full briefing — budget, financing guidance, neighborhoods, and offer strategy — so nothing about the process is assumed.

Can you work with out-of-state buyers?

Yes. We handle remote and relocation purchases with virtual tours and market briefings, and have closed sales for buyers hundreds of miles away.

How do I get a valuation on my home?

Call (720) 637-3312 or send a note through the form above. We'll give you a grounded, no-obligation read on what your home is worth in today's market.
